A 1796 LIGHT CAVALRY VARIANT SWORD.
A 1796 Variant sword of the Light Cavalry pattern, with unusual 33.1/2" blade. The addition of double three-quarter fullers and 'Scimitar' point, makes the weapon far more effective than the standard pattern. Contained in its steel scabbard, the blade spine is marked Osborn & Gunby. They are listed as working between 1808 and 1817 at 82 Pall Mall.
