a late 17thc or early 18thc brass sundial and compass by Butterfield, Paris, with a folding Bird gnomon in a fixed position, numerals around the outside and engraved decoration. Marked for 48 and 51 degrees latitude, and engraved signature Butterfield, Paris. In it's original leather clad box.
