*Major General Sir Cuthbert Sprawson (1877-1956) held various high administrative and University appointments in India at a time which was important to the Medical profession. He was Director-General of the Indian Medical Service from 1933-37, and President of the Medical Council from 1934-37. His name will always be associated with the King George's Medical Council at Lucknow University, where he was professor of Medicine for many years. His favourite recreation in India was big-game shooting, and was a fine rifle shot. He seems to have done much of his hunting from 1932-35, and this appears to be a typical 1930's mount. As this is pre 1947 skin it can be sold without restriction.
