SWAINE & ADENEY GOLD MOUNTED RIDING CROP - ROYAL AIR FORCE INTEREST
with a horn handle and mounted with a gold collar, marked Swaine & Adeney and inscribed H.T from (name difficult to read), July 1920. H.T, probably Air Marshal Sir Hugh Trenchard. Gold marks rubbed. Also with a Brigg riding crop with a silver collar, inscribed Air Marshall Sir Hugh Trenchard from E.D, July 1920, a Swaine & Adeney riding crop with inscribed silver collar (H,M.T for Hugh Montague Trenchard), and various other whips etc.
Hugh Trenchard, 1st Viscount Trenchard GCB OM GCVO DSO (1873-1956) was the commander of the Royal Flying Corps in France from 1915, and was instrumental in establishing the Royal Air Force.
