Standing on three legged mounts, 10.1/2" diameter with Walker & Hall hallmarks for 1909. Engraved 'To the officers of 2nd Battalion The Black Watch, from Major J G Hamilton, on promotion 1909.
John G H Hamilton CMG DSO, was wounded in the Boer War having been awarded the Queens South Africa Medal and five clasps. Distinguished Service Order LG 27/9/1901. MID x 2. Served West Africa 1903-05, Delhi Durbar 1911 Medal. Lieutenant Colonel 3rd Battalion The Black Watch.
