GT WAR MEDALS. A British War Medal named to 976 Pte D H Sumner KOYLI. David Henry Sumner the son of a Police Constable from Nottingham, was Killed in Action on the 28th October 1914. He had served in France from the 11th September 1914. The son of John and Mary Sumner of 47 Sedgely Gardens, Nottingham, aged 25 yrs. Commemorated on the Le Touret, Memorial. A British War & Victory Medal pair named to 28185 Pte E W Hilton Bedford R. In 1917 Pte Hilton suffered from Trench Feet, mainly loss of circulation in his big toe. A British War Medal named to 29937 Pte J Owen Ox & Bucks LI (India). A Gt War pair named to 20532 Pte W W Cottis N & Derby R. William Cottis enlisted in December 1915. posted to the 3/8th Battalion in March 1916. He served overseas from the 11th July 1916.
