A W W 11 NAVAL OFFICERS MEDALS & MINIATURES.
A 1939/45 Star, Atlantic & Africa Star with N Africa 1942-43 bar, also a Pacific Star. Defence & War Medals finally a 1953 Coronation Medal, all unnamed as issued. A matching miniature group with related name tag, Pyr Lt Cmmr C J Cooper RN. C of E.
Contained in a Gieves of Portsmouth box, posted to Cdr (S) C J Cooper R.N. Who was then serving on HMS Warrior. In 1945 he is listed as serving on HMS Colossus, in the rank of Commander as dated from the 30th June 1942 (Navy List.)
Also his medal bar ribbons mounted after his Coronation Medal, was awarded in 1953.
HMS Colossus and Warrior were Fleet Aircraft Light Carriers in WW11, the former being launched in 1944. Later being sold to the French Navy, seeing service in Indo-China. The latter was later HMCS Warrior, during its service with the Royal Canadian Navy in 1946-48, then returned to the R Navy.
