THREE CASED CITY OF LONDON THEME BRONZE MEDALLIONS . The first in a fitted case with gold embossed lid, 'In commemoration of the visit of H M the King of the Hellenes, To the City of London 16th June 1880. The Rt Hon Sir Francis Wyatt Truscott Kt, Lord Mayor.Charles Woolloton Esq and Edmond Kelly Bayley Esq-Sherrifs. Sir John Bennett Kt, Chairman of the Committee. Inside the lid is C C Adams Sculptor, London. 75mm diameter with the legend, George 1st King of the Hellenes, facing left obverse. Britannia and Greek Temple etc reverse, with June 16th 1880 below. Born a Dane, Proclaimed King when Otto was overthrown aged 17 years old. The uncle of Prince Philip he was assassinated in 1913. (1668 in B C Medals by C Eimer) The second with gold embossed lid reading, In Commemoration of the Opening of the New Buildings for the School on the Victoria Embankment, By H R H The Prince of Wales accompanied by HRH The Princess of Wales 12th December 1882. The Rt Hon Henry Edmund Knight, Lord Mayor. Polydore de Keyser Esq Aldn and Joseph Savory Esq, Sheriffs. Pearse Morrison Esq. Chairman of the Committee. Wyon 287 Regent Street inside the damaged (loose) lid. Albert Edward and Alexandra facing right obverse, City of London School New Buildings Opened by HRH Prince Of Wales 12th December 1882, 76mm diameter. Repair to the re-fixing of the lid will be required. (1690 BCM) The third with gold embossed lid, 'In commemoration of the viosit of The Colonial and Indian Representatives, to the City of London 25th June 1886.The Right Hon John Staples Lord Mayor. David Evans Esq Admn and Thomas Clarke Esq Sherrifs. William Henry Pannell Esq Chairman to the Committee. Inside the lid ios Elkington & Co Ltd. London. 77mm diameter with the obverse legend, To Commemorate the Colonial & Indian Reception at the Guildhall London 1886. With detailed interior of the Guildhall view, reverse. (1726 in British Commemorative Medallions).
