AN MBE (Mil) BWM-TFWM-IGS 1908-DEF & WAR RA-1/97th IND INF.
A Military issue MBE by Garrards with hallmarks for 1919. A British War Medal named to Gnr L Symond 1-97th Infantry. A Territorial Force War Medal named to 1271 Gnr E Symonds RA. An India General Service Medal 1908 bar North West Frontier 1919, officially re-named? to Lt E Symonds 1-97th Infy. Defence & War Medals. With a matching miniature medal group, both mounted for wear.
Commissioned in November 1917 from the RA into the 1-97 Inf, having served in India from 9/10/1914. Medals to be issued by the India Office, TFWM claimed in August 1920 whilst serving at Jubulpore India. Address to send his medals given as, The Commandant, 3/19 Hyderabad Regt, Quetta, India.
Eneas Symonds as Second in Command A/Mjr Indian Army Service Corps, retired in 1937. Called back to service in India thence London during WW11. His copied documents state his ability to deal with all ranks and senior officers, whilst training Mule Transport Troops.
His Mothers and wife's address given as Nottington, Weymouth, Dorset. Many copied documents as to his service career, are included with this lot.
