AN A K A RFA CASUALTY TRIO. A 1914 Star and Bar, named to 42799 Cpl G Palmer RFA. British War & Victory Medals named to 42799 Sgt G Palmer RFA. For some reason Sgt Palmer/Cotter the husband of Margaret Anne Cotter, appears to have used both names in his military career. This came to light when he was Killed in Action 3rd August 1917. His widows address given as 43 Somers Street, Southsea, Portsmouth. On his MIC he is George Palmer, 4th Brigade Royal Field Artillery, Serving in France from the 14/10/1914. Later B Batty 174th Brigade KIA 3/8/1917.
