Lot 1865
VICTORIAN BRASS CATHEDRAL SKELETON CLOCK,
the 8" silvered chapter ring on a brass, eight day, chain driven, twin fusee movement, striking to a bell on the half hour and a gong on the hour, with repeating mechanism activated by a chord, with key and pendulum, in a glazed, mahogany base, height excluding marble base 53cm
Footnote: the triple finials would suggest an inspiration from York Minster. A brass dedication plaque, dated 26th March 1862, states it was given to the Rev'd John Ellam by members of his congregation at St James' Church, Hull.
