GEORGE III BRASS CASED ALARM TIMEPIECE, late 18th century, the silvered chapter ring with roman numerals outside a silvered alarm dial with Arabic numerals on a sanded dial, the 30 hour chain driven movement with verge escapement, four turned pillars, bell and bob pendulum, hook and spike style all mount, the sides with sliding doors, the dial behind a hinged front panel inscribed Mattw & Thos Dutton, height 13.5cm, width 8.5cm Footnote: Matthew and Thomas Dutton were in partnership from around 1796 until 1842. A receipt states that the bell, bell stand and glass were replaced in 2014.
