‡WILLIAM LYONS-WILSON (1892-1981) ABSTRACT Signed and dated 20 AUG/ 1964, watercolour 35 x 43cm. Provenance: By descent in the family of a fellow master at Blundell's School, Devon (to whom this was a wedding present in 1964). Lyons-Wilson was fascinated by the Surrealism of Joan Miro and Paul Klee and was intrigued by the impact of colour in abstract art. From 1944, he showed these subjects at the Redfern Gallery, London
