The Car Illustrated: A Journal of Travel by Land, Sea, & Air. A very good run of this folio-sized weekly motoring journal, each volume hardbound in the publisher's green clot h, the shade varying from dark to light green, and with elaborate gilt decoration and lettering to the front covers and spines. The run is complete from Vol. I No. 1, May 28th 1902 to Vol. XXXIV No. 442, November 9th 1910, plus Vols. XXXVII and XXXVIII, No. 469, May 17th 1911 to No. 494, November 8th 1911, and Vols. XL to XLII, No. 508, February 14th 1912 to No. 546, November 6th 1912. The issues are all bound with their covers and each volume has a title page and index at the front of the volume; some include an additional frontispiece. Most of the volumes are clean and sound internally, but the condition of the bindings varies considerably, some having wear or damp-staining, some with creasing to the end-papers and/or frontispiece, and some with cracked or broken front or rear hinges. Volumes XXVI and XXXI have internal damage from damp with some loss, and the binding of Vol. XXXIII is particularly damaged by damp. Intending purchasers must satisfy themselves as to the completeness and acceptability of the volumes. Volume One is illustrated. (39)

“I received the bicycle stand that you sent yesterday and would like to pass on my grateful thanks. It was ‘totally excellent’ and couldn’t have been packaged better if it was the crown jewels.”
