a wonderful leather bound album containing a series of 19 large Air Flown Covers (Jersey stamps), Illustrating the Principal Honours, Decorations & Campaign Medals Awarded to RFC, R.A.F etc. Each cover carrries 7 Airmen signatures. Signatures include, Air Chief Marshall Williamson, Sir Robin Hooper, Air Marshall Ivor Broom, Air Commodore West, Group Captain Hugh Verity, Captain Eric Melrose Brown, and many more. The leather bound album with an outer protective box.
*Lots 870-883 are from the collection of Brian William Chapman (1941-2015). Brian was born in 1941 in Wood Green in North London, and moved to Farnborough in 1967 where he got a job as a Machinist at the Royal Aircraft Establishment. After a move to New Zealand he returned to the UK in 1980 and joined Westlands, and worked there until 2001 when he retired. His great passion from a young age was Aviation, and family trips would often revolve around trips to Airstrips and Airshows. He was a founder member of the Bomber Command Museum Appeal at the Imperial War Museum, and part of the Somerton Spotters Aircraft Club. These lots include many signatures, some acquired by post, and some whilst visiting Airshows and events over the years.
