A XV11 LANCERS OFFICERS SWORD.
A well made mid 19thC sword with maker or cutlers mark as J Irvine Master Tailor 17th Lancers. Steel three-bar hilt with clean 35" blade, decorated with Battle Honours Alma-Inkerman- Balaklava and Sevastopol. Skull and crossbones with Or Glory below, crown over VR cypher and XV11 Lancers below amid foiliage panels.
Brown leather scabbard with sword frog present, the steel guard has light rust evident inside.
