A VICTORIAN DIAMOND AND PEARL TIARA composed of a central single stone cluster on a collet and scroll line, with rose-cut diamond, diamond and pearl flower head and leaf surmount, mounted in silver and gold. Circa 1880. Provenance: Lady Mary Stanhope (1844-1876), daughter of the 5th Earl of Stanhope, thence by descent to her daughter; Lady Margaret Lygon (1874-1957), third daughter of the 6th Earl Beauchamp and Lady-in-waiting to Queen Mary for many years, as well as being decorated by four Sovereigns, thence by descent to her daughter-in-law; The Hon. Lady Russell (1908-1995), daughter of the 1st. Baron Ebbisham, who married Admiral The Hon. Sir Guy Russell, G.B.E., K.C.B., D.S.O. (1898-1977) in 1939, and thence by descent to her daughter, the present owner.
