A VICTORIAN ARMY LONG SERVICE AND GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL. A Victorian Army Long Service and Good Conduct medal with replaced large ring suspension, second type lacking the badge of Hanover. Named to 1422, Private Thomas. Austin, 76th Regiment, 1859. The 79th Foot became the 79th Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders. The record for 1422 Thomas Austin records an 'incident' 1/1/1841 whilst serving in Bermuda and a second record of an 'incident' 1/1/1851-31/3/1851 whilst serving in Corfu and Ionian Islands (Now Greece) and Malta.
