A BALTIC MEDAL 1854-55
A Baltic Medal named to J.Goss, K.M. H.M.S. Neptune. Issued unnamed many were privately engraved and it seems likely that K.M. is and error and should read R.M. According to H.M.S. Neptune's Muster book there was a Private, Royal Marine, Ship Book Number. RM No Class No. 70 who joined Neptune 7th March 1854 from H.M.S. Prince Regent and was discharged to H.M.S. Victory 5th January 1856. Single, aged 31 in 1854 he was born at Norton in Somerset.
