of shaped rectangular form with engine-turned decoration and an engraved view of buildings by a lake in a hilly landscape, the reverse with a cartouche inscribed "S.L Kellogg", with pseudo marks and maker's mark "MW", unascribed, 1850-60; 3.45" (8.8 cms) long; 1.3 oz
*It is tempting to think that S.L.Kellogg was a relation of William Keith Kellogg, best known as found of the Kellogg cereal company and co-inventor of the first toasted flake cereal.
