a dolls house based on Montacute House in Somerset, made in Pine and with some internal fixtures including stairs. Also with a large qty of dolls house furniture and accessories, some home made and with some better quality items such as a miniature leather dome top box (made by Legatoria, Roma), also with dolls house miniature dolls (including 2 19thc wooden miniature dolls, 2 china head dolls) etc. House 92cms by 60cms.
*Montacute House is a late Elizabethan mansion which is now owned by the National Trust. Constructed in local ham stone, it was built in around 1598 by Sir Edward Phelps, Master of the Rolls and the Prosecutor during the Gunpowder trial.
This model may have been made by an estate worker as a dolls house for a member of the family.
