British War & Victory medals named to 102653 Pte H R Meager MGC. A silver wristwatch with inscribed reverse, 'Presented to H R Meager by the staff Allen Strong & Co Ltd March 1917.'. In working order, with some loss of luminous paint to the numbers on the face.
Horace Rueben Meager was the son of Mr & Mrs Thomas Meager, husband of Dorothy Clara Meager of 70 Barclay Road, Leytonstone, London.
He was Killed in Action on the 19th October 1918 serving with the 1st Battalion Machine Gun Corps, aged 30. Buried in The Highland Cemetery, Le Cateau.
