Walter Stanley Hamblyn a native of Jersey, was born in St Helier 6th December 1888. To Walter W V Hamblyn (Clerk) and Alice Elvira (nee Sellick).
Commissioned in the 4th Somerset L I, 31/10/1917. Served in Palestine from February 1918. In 1911 he was living in Jersey, his sister was a Dressmaker in Taunton. Somerset.
Promoted Lieutenant in 1922, still in the 4th Somerset L I.
