In unworn condition with toning, named to Lt W T Maddock RNVR.
William Trevor Maddock who specialised in Electrical Engineering, was commissioned onto HMS Ambrose in November 1913. Ambrose was a former Ocean Liner, commandeered in WW1 by His Majesty's Royal Navy. A troop carrier firstly in a short time she became a converted Submarine Depot ship. In the Navy List Lt Maddock is shown as also on attached Submarine duties.
A native of Newport, South Wales, born into an affluent family around 1884.
He died in Finchley Memorial Hospital on the 14th April 1947, residing with his wife and children at 20 Dolls Park, Church End, Finchley, London.
His estate was left to his widow Violet Milburn Maddock and his daughter Barbara Mary Maddock (Spinster).
With a copy of the 1917 print 'Songs of the Submarine by Klaxon. Signed W Trevor Maddock. HMS Maidstone, 3/10/1917. Hardbound with staining evident. Also two silver napkin rings with his sons nickname 'Paddy' inscribed. His only son Paul died aged 4 years, a victim of a childhood virus. A third engraved but unnamed ring, of larger proportion.
