A GORDONS 1st DAY OF LOOS CASUALTY TRIO. A 1914/15 Star, British War & Victory medals named to S-8526 L Cpl R Whyte Gordons. Robert Whyte served in France with the 9th Battalion the Gordons from the 4th August 1915, he was Killed in Action on the 25th September 1915. 52 days in total. Aged 25 the son of James and Christina Whyte of 24 Glasgow Road, Denny, Stirlingshire His original medals were returned being spelt White, re-issued correctly named in March 1921
