A Queens South Africa medal with two bars, Transvaal & Orange Free State. A Kings South Africa medal with bars, S Africa 1901 & 1902. Both named to 6182 Cpl W Greenslade The Queens. British War & Victory medals named to 19923 Pte W J Greenslade Som LI. An Imperial Service Medal GV1, named to William J Greenslade. A 1934/35 dated safe driving medal, named to W J Greenslade.
William Greenslade served in South Africa and was awarded the QSA with clasp Orange Free State, for service in the 2nd Battalion The Queens. He then served in India with the 1st Battalion from the 27th March 1902.
A later list approves the Transvaal clasp award.
19923 William James Greenslade (act L/Cpl) served in the 4th Battalion (Territorial) Somerset Light Infantry, being placed on Class Z Reserve in 1919.
