MILITARY PHOTOGRAPH ALBUMS inc ASHANTI & MALAYA etc.
Three well presented postcards and private photographs, of the Gold Coast during the war years. Including natives, vehicles and military life, taken by a senior officers with many notations present. Albums 1 & 11 show how Africa was made ready for defence, in 1941-42.
The third and larger album depicts life as a senior officer, in the Malacca Barracks in Malaya C1960's with the 28th Commonwealth Brigade. Terendak Camp was well set out, as depicted in the aerial views. Workshops and living quarters were of some quality, even a post Petrol Station is depicted.
A large town in itself, with Olympic size Swimming Pool, 150 bed hospital, etc.
The large page depicts the visit of, Rt Hon John Purfumo OBE.MP. Secretary of State for War, 13th January 1961.
