MILITARY EPHEMERA. Including an original letter to a Nurse, stating she was to proceed on the ill-fated HMHS Brittanic's final voyage. She survived the ships sinking by a German laid mine on the 21st November 1916, with minimal casualties. A sister ship of RMS Olympic and Titanic, she was on her eight voyage as a Hospital Ship. Three rescue ships attended promptly, two men serving on them had survived the sinking of the Titanic. Of the few casualties in the sinking, most were caused when two lifeboats collided. War Office London.SW. 17th October 1916 to Miss E M Green. Ordered to embark on The Hospital Ship Brittanic, at Southampton by 1 O'clock on the 20th October 1916.
