A LARGE 18TH CENTURY PEWTER 'UNION SOCIETY' JUG AND ANOTHER. The large lidded jug with a domed cover, the straight sided body with a horizontal band and spreading foot, with scrolling handle engraved with two shaking hands and inscription 'Union Society Established April 22nd 1814: Benjn. Codling Headsman, John Claxton Clerk, Matthew Crask and James Reeves , Supervisors' With a William IV Duty mark to the top, 34cm high, 20cm wide. With a similar flat topped straight sided tankard, 28cm high 18cm wide. (2)
