circular with a pull-off cover, inset with a medallion depicting William & Mary*, gilt interior, the base initialled "DR", unmarked, English c.1700; 2.65" (6.6 cms) diameter; 2 oz
*The medal on this box engraved by G. Bower, known as the "Church" medal was issued c.1698 to commemorate the restoration of the Church of England under William & Mary after the forced abdication of James II, who was Catholic.
