A CHARLES II SILVER TOBACCO BOX oval with plain moulded borders and a pull-off cover, inscribed "T. Chandler, Woodborough*, 1733", the base inscribed "R.S. Purtonensis me tenet Ex Dono N.N. Londinensis", maker's mark only "ID" (monogram), struck five times inside, probably West Country c.1680; 3.5" (9 cms) long; 4.25 oz *The Parish of Woodborough lies mainly in the Vale of Pewsey, Wiltshire.
