A 17TH CENTURY CONTINENTAL GILT-METAL MOUNTED AMBER GOBLET with lobed & fluted decoration and a ribbed, spreading circular foot, probably North German / Baltic,(A/F); 8.75" (22 cms) high *This goblet resided in Victoria Road, Kensington Gardens, London W8 and at the outbreak of WWII in 1939 was removed along with other valuables & chattels to avoid enemy bombing to a new location in Hindhead. Ironically and rather tragically, the storage facility was fire-bombed in 1943, burning nearly all of the deposited items.

“I have to say I’m VERY impressed by the level of research that has gone in to the various items of my late father’s ...  Matthew sent me the full history of my Grandfather’s medals from WW1 - without any input from myself - so I’d only just sent him a note saying thanks, then the postman arrived with your items ... with even more evidence of unfrequented detailed research ! It’s been an absolute pleasure dealing with you all ... and may the pleasant surprises keep on coming !”
