BOER WAR INTEREST: WYNBERG PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM.
A large format photograph album with portraits, landscapes and views of nursing and medical staff, officers quarters, military hospital, ships in harbour, family groups including a group photograph 'The Staff - Base Details - R.A.M.C. Wynberg, S.Africa, 1901' others with varying numbers of uniformed soldiers in the photographs. 69 photographs and five loose photographs. The album 32 x 43 cm.
The military base at Wynberg is one of the oldest in South Africa. One of the Victorian style Garrison officers mess buildings survices and was declared a national monument in 1969.
