BRONZE FIGURE OF A MOTHER & CHILD - PETER WATTS (1916-2002) a small bronze showing a mother with a child on her lap, mounted on a bronze base. Signed, PW monogram, 2/9, Morris Singers Foundry, London. 5 3/4ins (14.5cms) high *Peter Watts was a sculptor in stone, wood and bronze. He studied at the Bath School of Art and the City of Guilds School of Art in Kennington, and stands in the tradition of Eric Gill. He worked mostly with classical and religious subjects, and a series of limited edition bronzes were cast in his later years.
