AN EARLY 19TH CENTURY CIRCULAR PRESSED HORN SNUFF BOX
with incuse sides, the tightly-fitting pull-off lid pressed with the "Oratorio of Judith" and signed "Bradwell Sc", the base with a braying ass beside a tree against a basket-weave ground and within a reeded border, the interior of both the base and lid turned in the centre with concentric circles within a fine reeded band; 3.1" (8 cms) diameter
Note: "The Oratorio of Judith" by Bradwell is after the engraving by Hogarth, the composer was Defresch, 1733.
