A FINE VICTORIAN GILT BRONZE FIGURAL SEAL in the form of an officer in the 2nd Life Guards, the bloodstone matrix with intaglio coronet & monogram "IHDH", contained in original lined & fitted case (also initialled below a coronet) with retailer's label of "Jenner & Knewstub, St. James's Street", unmarked c.1860; 3.55" (9.2 cms) high * For Jacob Henry Delaval (Astley), 17th Baron Hastings, b.21st May 1822, succeeded to the title on the death of his father, 27th Dec. 1859, d.8th March 1871. Sub Lieut., 2nd Life Guards 17th March 1843. Hon.Colonel of the Norfolk Artillery (Militia) 23rd Jan 1860. Seat: Seaton Delaval Hall, Whitley Bay, Northumberland.
