A GEORGE III TANKARD of tapering form with an applied, narrow foliate girdle, chased around the foot & lower body with a repeating pattern of stylised hops & stiff leaves and around the upper body with a hop vine, cast leafy scroll handle & a part-fluted, domed cover with wheatsheaf finial, crested, gilt interior, by Thomas Robins, London 1809; 9.5" (24 cms) high; 48.3 oz *Crest probably for Hobson.
