Lot 75

The Cyclecar. Volumes 1 & 2. Two quarto hardbound half-leather volumes (covers worn, rubbed and marked, spines mis-numbered and spine edges cracked), holding the first 54 issues of the now rarely-found weekly "new motoring" magazine, from Vol. I, No.1, 27th November, 1912 to Vol. II, No.54, 1st December,1913. The very well-illustrated and informative issues are nearly all bound with their covers, lacking only those for numbers 4, 20, 24 and 34 and, although the pages are browned though age, the contents generally appear to be very clean and sound. “I have to say I’m VERY impressed by the level of research that has gone in to the various items of my late father’s ...  Matthew sent me the full history of my Grandfather’s medals from WW1 - without any input from myself - so I’d only just sent him a note saying thanks, then the postman arrived with your items ... with even more evidence of unfrequented detailed research ! It’s been an absolute pleasure dealing with you all ... and may the pleasant surprises keep on coming !”
