Mon Ami Mate
The bright brief lives of Mike Hawthorn & Peter Collins, by Chris Nixon. A 1991 1st edition, 377pp including index and a DJ illustrated by Michael Turner. An interesting dedication copy signed and dated 'July 91' by the author to 'Tom Griffith', the headmaster of Barfield Preparatory, the school attend by Mike Hawthorn and a photograph that he supplied appears on page 3, as are references to Tom Griffith. Coming with this book are two typed and signed letters from Chris Nixon, both dated 1987, and both written to Tom Griffith, discussing the aforementioned photograph and others. Both letters and book are in excellent condition save for a little creasing to the lower edge of the DJ. (3)
