A circa 1876 44-inch Ordinary.
Believed to be by Haynes & Jeffries, this early open-head machine has 24-inch straight handlebars with turned bone grips in good condition, cotton wheel roller saddle spring support, padded leather saddle and saddle pan, mounting step, cylindrical section backbone, swaged front forks leading to adjustable hub bearings and large brass oil cisterns of the period. Later, but perfectly useable, rat-trap pedals are fitted to 5-inch slotted cranks.
