A c1888 Hartzendorff & Lehmann Candle-Powered Lamp.
Manufactured in Germany, probably for the French market, it used the Lucas registered design body and side glasses as a design basis. In very good condition, with some restoration, the blanked aperture where the burner winder would have been positioned is visible. The H&L insignia is just above the hinging door and the rear bracket is correct and complete. This lamp is illustrated and discussed in ECL, page 155. 11½-inches (29cm) high.
