Lot 184

A Motorcycle Trophy. A delightfully-crafted and well-detailed representation of a 1920s single-cylinder flat tank motorcycle, fashioned in silver, with an assay stamp of Birmingham dated 1929. Mounted on a black plinth, it incorporates an engraved assayed-silver plaque inscribed, 'Calder Valley M.C. - Dr Stephen Award - 1929. W. Naylor'. In need of cleaning, but charming. 4½-inches high.

“That really is seriously impressive research ... and what is particularly impressive is that you actually bothered to do it ! I strongly suspect that many firms would have simply stuck a lot number on them ... but - yet again - I continue to be impressed ... by everyone at Lawrence’s !”
