A RARE LATE 17TH CENTURY MALTESE ENGRAVED SMALL FLASK either for extreme unction or scent, in the form of a pilgrim flask with a screw cover, secured by chains, linked to a grotesque mask boss on each sided, on an oval foot, each side decorated with scrollwork centred by a tulip flower, struck twice on the foot with the mark "MA" below a Maltese Cross, no maker's mark c.1690; 3.9" (9.5 cms) high; 1.55 oz
