blue transfer printed with Mess No 12 inside a broad boarder with rural scenes of the seasons, diameter 24cm; together with a pair of Mason's Ironstone plates, blue printed with a pair of cross keys above the motto Col. Div. Pet. inside a cartouche and a chinoiserie border, printed marks, diameter 24cm (3)
Ref: Coysh and Henrywood, Dictionary of Blue and White Printed Printed Potteryy, Vol 1, p246 describes this plate as 'particularly attractive' and dating probably from the 1840's.
