DARTES FRERES A PARIS CABINET CUP AND SAUCER, early 19th century, of 'jasmin' form, painted with a scene of a lady and gentleman in a chamber, he feeding a tart to a boy hiding under the bed, on a tooled gilt ground beneath a high scrolling handle with lion head finial, the interior with an inscription, the saucer similarly gilded with a band of laurel leaves and quatrefoil motifs, iron red stencilled mark to saucer, height of cup 13cm (2) Ref: De Guillebon, Paris Porcelain, 1972, p188 & 9 for a similarly shaped cup
