FRENCH SCHOOL (?). 19th CENTURY COUNTRY GIRL AND A CHILD SEATED BY A TREE Indistinctly signed or dated lower right (possibly 1849?), oil on paper laid on canvas 45 x 37cm. * A printed label on the verso, possibly from an auction catalogue, reads VEANOR/ [lot?] 81 Blind Woman and Child with Bought at sale Dowells & Lyons/ 28 February 1857 written in ink. No artist called Veanor has been traced and it may be a misreading of another name.
