a rare two handled loving cup, designed by Charles Noke for Royal Doulton to commemorate the Battle of Britain. Marked on the base, Winston Spencer Churchill, Prime Minister of Britain 1940, The Loving Cup was made during the 'Battle of Britain' as a tribute to a great leader, Royal Doulton, modelled by Noke. 7 3/4ins (19.5cms) high
*This jug was considered to be a poor likeness of Churchill and was withdrawn soon after production started, Charles Noke in 1941 then made several more attempts to remodel Churchill with mixed results.
