LARGE NEWLYN COPPER CHARGER - ARTS & CRAFTS a large copper charger, the centre designed with a Galleon and with Fish around the rim. Signed to the back, Desd by J D Mackenzie, Worked by P Hodder, Newlyn Industrial Class, Newlyn, Penzance, 1900. Also with the remains of a paper label also dated 1900. 23 1/2ins (60cms) diameter *The Newlyn Copper Works was opened in 1890 as part of Newlyn Art Industries, J D Mackenzie was a Director at the firm and was a prominent designer, and he worked alongside Philip Hodder on many prominant Newlyn items.
