a fascinating group of documents relating to a petition to the Minister of Health regarding the Wimbledon Corporation applying for the compulsory acquisition of the ground and buildings of the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis and Cricket Club in 1926. These were sent out to important members of the club for them to sign, and cricket signatures include Major E Wynyard, Frank Mann, C M Wells, J Douglas, A Gilligan, D R Jardine, J R Mason, J Crawford, P F Warner, R Twining, M Howell, etc. It also includes information about the Cricket Clubs these were sent to, Colleges, Hockey Clubs etc.
