AN IRON CROSS AND SERVICE BOOK etc.
A 2nd Class (Jewellers) Iron Cross complete with paybook and typed details, also formal notice of death in Newspaper format. Obergefer Adolph Kraft was to die of wounds received in the Invasion of Russia, on the 25/9/1914 (Ukraine-Crimea) .
Wounded in the head he succumbed the following day, with the official typed copy of his death from his Company Commander. The letter addressed to Frau Kraft, bears the official stamp, having the date 2/10/1941.
His paybook contains his photograph and records of the actions he took part in. From Poland to France thence in the invasion of Russia, in total some 30 listings.
Then the copy of the official newspaper announcement of his death, from his Mother.
The Iron Cross has the brass? centre, possibly a Jewellers copy.
